Notes  Joseph Schrg, ("see historical notes, pages 20 and 21.") "was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, February 3rd, 1769. He came to Canada in fall of 1799, and in spring, 1800, he with his wife and family of five children settled on lot No. 11, B.F. Beasley Block, S. R., on the banks of the Grand River, opposite Doon. Here they raised a family of ten children. He died February 17th, 1853."
