Notes  Samuel Erb, "the eldest son of John and Magdalena Erb, was born January 4th, 1792. On June 25th, 1816, he was married to Mary Lewis who was born August 14th, 1795, and died March 26th, 1877. They resided for many years about two miles south-east of Berlin, on the farm lately owned by Israel Snider, where there family was born. Later they moved to Norwich, Oxford County, Ontario, where he died June 26th, 1878. Their family consisted of eleven children, viz:"
