Notes  John L. Erb, "eldest son of Samuel and Mary (Lewis) Erb, was born November 24th, 1818. On May 26th, 1840, he was married to Nancy Clemens who was born June 16th, 1821, and died October 21st, 1861. On March 8th, 1863, Mr. Erb married again to Mrs. Mary Zimmerman. They resided in Erbsville, Ontario, where he died July 2nd, 1878. To him and his first wife were born seven children, viz:"
