Notes  Christian Martin, "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, December 23rd, 1797, and came to Canada with his parents in 1820. On January 5th, 1825, he was married to Anna, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Sprigel) Baumann. She was born October 18th, 1794, and died June 2nd, 1861. They resided on the farm now possessed by the heirs of the late Daniel Weber, situated in the township of Woolwich, about one mile south of Conestogo. Here they had a family of eight children, viz:"
