Notes  Joseph Eby, "the eldest son of David Eby, was born March 25th, 1811, and died April 15th, 1871. After quitting the farm he went to the town of Waterloo and engaged himself to Daniel Snyder, in whose services he was, as clerk in store, for several years. He was married to Magdalena Bingeman who was born October 11th, 1822, and died August 18th, 1865. After their marriage they moved to St. Jacobs where they kept hotel for many years. After the decease of his first wife he was married to Margaretta Cress. To him were born eight children, seven of whom were born unto his first wife."
