Notes  Samuel S. Betzner "was born October 8th, 1835. He was married to Leah Bowman. They resided on the west end of his father's farm where he was engaged in farming. During the winter months he was engaged as a public school teacher. On May 10th, 1866, he died of consumption, leaving a wife and family of four children, namely: V Edmund (dead), V Allan, V Mary (dead), and V Lizzie. See No. 282."
