Jacob Block, "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1810. When a young man he came to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario. He was married to Catharine, daughter of Samuel and Esther (Groh) Stauffer. They resided on a farm situated on the township line between Wilmot and Blenheim where they died.
