Notes  Menno E. Cressman, "the eldest son of Daniel Cressman, was born April 13th, 1838. On November 8th, 1859, he was married to Lydia Martin who was born September 1st, 1840. They resided in Wilmot Township, about six miles south of New Hamburg where she died January 3rd, 1876. After her decease he married, November 7th, 1876, to Anna Good who was born December 18th, 1847. On January 3rd, 1869, he was ordained as deacon of the Mennonite body by Bishop Henry Shantz, and on October 2nd, 1870, he was called to the ministry. He was ordained at Blenheim by the same bishop. He is a good man and is a favorite among all who know him. As a minister he carries the best report. The writer heard him preach twice and both times he delivered both an impressive and spiritual sermon."
