Notes  John Cressman, "the eldest son of John and Anna (Schowalter) Cressman, was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, May 15th, 1795. In 1807 he came to Canada with his parents and was raised near Freeport, Ontario. On October 3rd, 1818, he was married to Esther, daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Wismer) Wismer. She was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, January 12th, 1790, and died near New Dundee, Ontario, September 2nd, 1881. After their marriage they moved on the farm now possessed by Philip Zeller, Jr., about a mile south of Breslau. Here he died June 30th, 1840. To them were born five children, viz:"
