Notes  John Eby, "second son of Christian and Elizabeth (Mayer) Eby, was born September 28th, 1737. In 1762 he was married to Rebecca Hershey. They resided in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near Lititz, where he died in 1794. To them were born seven children, of whom four settled in Canada, viz:"
