Notes  Jacob Heckedon, "the old pioneer settler of this family, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, June 2nd, 1803. When a young man he moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, Ontario. Here he formed an acquaintance with Mary Miller to whom he was afterwards married. She was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, June 6th, 1806. Soon after their marriage they settled on their farm several miles west of the town of Waterloo, near David Eby's place, where she died September 15th, 1867, and he died May 16th, 1892. To them was born a family of six children, viz:"
