Notes  Tilman B. Martin, "was born November 28th, 1855. On March 1st, 1881, he was married to Mary, daughter of Menno S. and Elizabeth (Schneider) Shantz. She was born September 20th, 1859. They reside about two miles north of Waterloo on the west half of the old "Peter Martin Farm." Their family consists of eight children, viz:"
