Notes  William Hembling, "the eldest, was born October 9th, 1818. After the decease of his parents he had his home with Isaac C. Shantz who then resided on the farm now in possession of Isadore B. Snyder. Here he had his home until he was married to Mary Derstein. After his marriage he moved to Wilmot Township where he was the possessor of a beautiful farm. From here he moved to Upper Woolwich where he resided for quite a number of years. From here he moved to Elmwood, Ontario, but now he has his home in Berlin with his daughter, Mrs. Gingerich. After the decease of his first wife he was married to Elizabeth Martin who died some years ago. With his first wife he had a family of twelve children, namely:...; and with his second wife there were five children, namely:..."
