Notes  Paul Martin, "was born February 14th, 1849. On September 24th, 1871, he was married to Susannah Lichty who died June 6th, 1890. On July 10th, 1892, he was again married to Lizzie Baumann, widow of the late Peter Brubacher. She was born August 16th, 1856. On July 14th, 1888, he was ordained minister of the Mennonite Church. So far he has proved the right man in the right place. He is an able speaker and can bring his sermons home to his audience. Many a one has entered the house of worship with a down-cast spirit and the heart filled with sorrow, but after listening to his expounding of scripture and receiving words of cheer and comfort for the soul, has left after divine service with the heart filled with good things and wended his was home rejoicing and praising the Lord for His wonderful spiritual blessings shed abroad. He is an able worker for the Lord's kingdom. He resides on his father's old homestead and has a family of seven children, of whom six were of first wife, namely:..."
