Notes  Amos Shantz, "the youngest son of Jacob and Mary (Yost) Shantz, was born May 31st, 1829. On March 2nd, 1852, he was married to Nancy, daughter of Abraham and Barbara (Shantz) Moyer. She was born September 2nd, 1835. Shortly after their marriage they moved on a farm four miles west of New Dundee, where he was engaged in farming until March, 1883, when they moved to Berlin where they still reside. To them were born the following children, viz:"
