Notes  Elias Martin, "the second son of Henry and Catharine (Miller) Martin, was born July 19th, 1828. On November 19th, 1850, he was married to Susannah, daughter of Jacob and Susannah (Snyder) Shantz. She was born June 2nd, 1831. After their marriage they moved on his father's place where they resided until December 1887, then they moved on the old "Daniel Good Farm" which he had shortly before purchased. Here they still reside with their son, Jacob, who had rented the place. They have had a family of nine children, viz:"
