Notes  John Y. Shantz, "the second son, was born February 6th, 1811. On March 28th, 1837, he was married to Susannah Scheirich. She was born April 1st, 1820, and died April 6th, 1884. Soon after their marriage they settled on their farm, then nearly all forest, near Shantz Station, where they resided until their deaths. During the last years of his life he was so unfortunate as to lose his eyesight. he died February 23rd, 1891, leaving a large family, viz:"
