Notes |
Noah C. Shantz, "was born January 14th, 1819. On January 26th, 1841, he was married to Hannah Baumann. She was born February 28th, 1819, and died January 28th, 1892. Soon after his marriage he took possession of his father's farm about a mile south-east of Berlin. Here he resided until his death which took place August 8th, 1876. He was enaged in pulling down the stone foundation of the old dwelling on his farm, when, all of a sudden, part of the wall fell, striking him on the lower part of the body and causing death within a few hours after the accident.
