Notes  Jonas C. Shantz, "was born July 26th, 1813. On March 28th, 1837, he was married to Hannah, daughter of John C. and Catharine (Shantz) Snyder. She was born July 25th, 1819, and died December 12, 1848. On January 21st, 1851 he was again married to Mary, daughter of Abraham and Nancy (Clemmer) Janzen (She was the widow of the late Abraham Honsberger). She was born June 18th, 1802, and died March 26th, 1888. Mr. Shantz shortly after his first marriage moved several miles north of Baden where he still resides..."
