Notes  Amos Shantz, "the fourth son of old Abraham Shantz, was born August 23rd, 1814. On May 18th, 1835, he was married to Catherine Latschaw who died December 17th 1870. On September 10th, 1872, he was again married to Margaret Jane Beatty who was born July 8th, 1832. He died June 7th, 1884. Of first wife there were twelve children, and of second wife there was one child. Their names are as follows:"
