Notes  Wendel Clemens, "was born December 28th, 1823. On November 25th, 1845, he was married to Catharine Unger who was born March 16th, 1829. They resided in Waterloo County for many years where he was engaged in farming. On August 28th, 1879, they moved to Lapeer County, Michigan, within three miles of Brown City, where he followed farming until recently when he retired, leaving the managing of the farm in the hands of his son Allen. To him and his wife was born a family of twelve children, viz:"
