Notes  Jacob Gole, "was born in Stutgard, Germany, October 15th, 1819. On December 28th, 1847, he was married to Catharine, daughter of John and Catharine (Fried) Shoemaker. She was born December 15th, 1828. Soon after their marriage they moved one mile north of Breslau, on the farm now owned by their son, Solomon S., where they resided until October 23 1889, then they moved to near St. Kilian, Nobles County, Minnesota, where they are now residing and spending the evening of their life in comfort and ease. To them were born eight children, viz:"
