John Burkhard, "was married to Catharine Martin (1) and after her decease to Nancy Martin. they reside a few miles north of Floradale, Ontario. With the first wife there were seven children, namely: V Solomon, V Anna, V Menno, V Susannah, V Maria, V Christian, and V Peter. All died in infancy except Peter who is married to Nancy Martin. They reside at home on his father's farm. With the second wife there were four children..."
