Notes  John Burkhard, "was married to Catharine Martin (1) and after her decease to Nancy Martin. they reside a few miles north of Floradale, Ontario. With the first wife there were seven children, namely: V Solomon, V Anna, V Menno, V Susannah, V Maria, V Christian, and V Peter. All died in infancy except Peter who is married to Nancy Martin. They reside at home on his father's farm. With the second wife there were four children..."

(1) She was born September 19th 1829, and died December 7th, 1860.
