Notes  John Bechtel "seventh child of Jacob and Elizabeth Bechtel, was born at Blair, September 18th, 1806, and died August 25th, 1848. He was first married to Sallie, daughter of Henry Brower. She was born January 21st, 1809, and died August 2nd, 1842. After her decease he was married to Elizabeth Knechtel. Mr. John Bechtel resided at Blair where he was engaged in the mercantile and tanning business. He also had a farm which he managed in connection with his business. His family consisted of twelve children.."
