Notes  John Master, "the eldest son of Isaac and Mary (Clemens) Master, was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania, March 7th, 1810. He came to Canada with his parents when nine years of age. On October 30th, 1830, he was married to Nancy Stauffer who was born August 4th, 1811, and died May 13th, 1843. After her decease he was married to Catharine Reichert, April 30th, 1844. After his return he settled in Wilmot Township, several miles west of New Dundee, on the farm now in possession of John Master, his grandson. From here he moved to Plattsville, Oxford County, where he resided until 1891, thence to Berlin where he and his aged partner are spending the evening of their lives with their son Isaac, ex-M. P. P. Here they have a pleasant home and the loving care of all. To him and his first wife was born a family of six children, viz:"
