Notes  Christian Moyer, "The Moyer family of eastern Pennsylvania is so large that it must be traced to numerous ancestors of the same name. We find the name, however, variously written in old manuscripts, as Moyer, Myer, Myers, Meyer, Meier, and Maier, which was originally all the same name. Christian Moyer, the ancestor of some of the Moyers in Salford and other townships of Montgomery County and also of those of Bucks County, came to Pennsylvania at a very early date (Some have it that he came and settled in Montgomery County as early as 1700) and purchased his farm containing 150 acres in 1718 or 19. This farm was located in Lower Salford. His family consisted of the following children, namely: Christian, Jacob, Samuel, Elizabeth, Anna and Barbara. The eldest son Christian of named family, was born about the year 1705 and died about the year 1787. His family consisted of nine children, namely:..."
