Notes  Jonas Wenger, "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, May 6th, 1815. In 1825 he came to Waterloo County, Ontario, where he was raised. On May 4th, 1840, he was married to Maria, daughter of Christian and Esther (Stauffer) Martin. She was born June 15th, 1820, and died many years ago. After her decease he was again married to Anna, daughter of Daniel and Anna (Martin) Weber. She was born October 17th, 1820, and died October 24th, 1872. Some years after the decease of his second wife he formed an acquaintance with Eliza Ziegler, widow of the late Abraham Kolb, whom he afterwards married and now they reside on the old 'Clemens Farm' near Breslau where they have their home with Mr. Joseph S. Cressman who is married to his daughter. Mr. Wenger's family consisted of nine children, of whom seven were born unto his first wife and two unto the second."
