Notes |
Elizabeth Fordney, "daughter of Michael Fordney and sister of Jacob Fordney, was born in Virginia. When a young girl her parents moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where she made her home with Abraham Erb who brought her to Canada in 1806. Some time after her arrival in this county she was married to Daniel Shupe. After their marriage they moved to Blenheim Township, Oxford County, where he was accidentally killed by his team running away in July, 1842. Soon after her husband's decease she took sick and in order to have her proper nursing they had her taken to her brother Jacob's home (Her brother, Jacob Fordney, resided near the "Toll Bridge", Freeport) where she died in November 1842. To her was born a family of seven children, namely:...See Daniel Shupe's family." |
