Notes  Samuel W. Martin, "the third son of Abram B. and Barbara (Weaver) Martin, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, February 9th, 1820. He followed farming for some time and was inspector of hotels for the South Riding of the county of Waterloo for a number of years. At present he lives retired, and owns a beautiful residence near Dr. Lundy's, Preston, where he now resides. On March 22nd, 1845, he was married to Mary, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Moyer) Lutz. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August 27th, 1825. They have had a family of twelve children, viz:"
