Notes  George William Rife, "was born in Hespeler, January 24th, 1844. He used to be bookkeeper for R. Forbes & Co., woollen manufacturers, Hespeler. About eighteen years ago he moved to Aylmer where he was engaged in the mercantile business. Since then he returned to Hespeler where he now resides and is engaged in farming, conveyancing, etc. On August 31st, 1869, he was married to Isabella, daughter of Rev. James White. Their family consists of five children, viz:"
