Notes  John Scheirich "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, August 4th, 1787. He came to Canada with his parents when eighteen years of age. When some twenty years old he was married to Barbara Groh who was born May 28th, 1784, and died November 28th, 1858. They resided on his father's place near Berlin where both died. His death took place April 3rd, 1862. Their family consisted of nine children, viz:"
