Notes  John Lichty, (The writer remembers old Mr. John Lichty speaking of his grandfather and if not mistaken called him "John") "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, July 21st, 1793. On April 14th, 1818, he was married to Barbara, daughter of George and Anna (Good) Hoffman. She was born June 30th, 1796, and died April 7th, 1875. In 1822 they moved to Canada and settled at Waterloo, Ontario, where he engaged himself to old Abraham Erb. From here he moved to Woolwich Township, on lot No. 43, German Company's Tract, on the farm now possessed by his son, George, and the heirs of his son David. Here they resided until 1837 when he moved on the old "Burkhard Farm" near the town of Waterloo, which he had shortly before purchased. Here they resided until their deaths. He died April 29th, 1878. To them were born ten children ..."
