Notes  Michael Ziegler, "The Zieglers were of the earliest settlers of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The old pioneer, Michael Ziegler, a native of Switzerland, was born probably as early as 1680 if not earlier. During the beginning of the eighteenth century, probably in 1707, he emigrated to America and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where we find that he was, in 1734, taxed for one hundred acres of land. We have no means of ascertaining the name of his wife nor names of his children. So much we know that one of his sons, Andrew, was married to Elizabeth, daughter of Dillman and Elizabeth Kolb, and resided near Skippack, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where he was the possessor of a large tract of land. His family consisted of four children... and Elizabeth who was married to Abraham Detweiler."
