Notes  David Bearinger "a native of Pennsylvania, was born in 1794, and came to Canada (abt. 1816) when about twenty years of age and settled near Hespeler. Here he was married to a Miss Smith, a daughter of "Yankee Smith". To them was born a family of eight children, namely: David, Samuel, William, Noah, Solomon, Sallie, Rachel and James. David the eldest of the family, is the only one who resided in this county after attaining the age of twenty-one years. The others are residing in different parts of America, some in Canada while others are in the United States. Noah resides at Millbank, Ontario, and Sarah resides at Owen Sound, Ontario. The addresses of the remaining children have not been received."
