Notes  Jacob C. Bowman, "the second son of Elias Bowman, was born July 9th, 1832. He was married to Catharine, daughter of Abraham Kolb. In his younger days he was engaged as a public school teacher. They belonged to the United Brethren Church of which body he was a local minister. He met with an accident which caused his death March 4th, 1872. At the time of his death they resided in Kent County, Michigan. Their family consisted of eleven children, namely:..."
