Notes  John S. Bowman, "the second son of Jonathan Bowman, was born May 12th, 1822. On March 3rd, 1846, he was married to Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph and Rebecca (Rosenberger) Stauffer. She was born September 19th, 1823, and died October 17th, 1863. They resided a few miles north of Bloomingdale. Their family is as follows, viz:"
