Notes  Martin H. Baumann, "the youngest son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Baumann, was born December 21st, 1834. On October 7th, 1856, he was married to Rebecca, daughter of Bishop Henry and Lydia (Martin) Shantz. She was born January 24th, 1835. They reside on his father's old homestead, in the township of Waterloo, on lot No. 27, German Company's Tract, about three miles north of the town of Waterloo. Their family consists of ten children, viz:"
