Notes  Eli Baumann, "the second son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Baumann, was born December 23rd, 1828. On February 24th, 1852, he married Rebecca, daughter of Christian and Magdalena (Shantz) Schneider. She was born August 13th, 1831. On March 16th, 1852 they moved on their farm, being composed of lot No. 84, German Company's Tract, Woolwich Township, two miles north of the village of St. Jacobs, and about the same distance south of Elmira. Here they are still residing and spending the evening of their lives in peace and comfort. Their family consists of twelve children, of whom three died young, viz:"
