Jacob Bergey, "the second son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wagner) Bergey, was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, September 1st, 1818, and came to Canada with his parents in 1822. They settled near Preston, on the farm known as "Henry Brower's." Here young Jacob was raised. On April 11th, 1844, he was married to Elizabeth, daughter of Moses and Barbara (Pannabecker) Eby. She was born January 27th, 1824. On May 2nd, 1849, they moved on Lot No. 4, Bleams Road, Wilmot Township, near Mannheim, where they have resided ever since. They are quite smart for their age. Their family consisted of ten children, of whom two died in infancy. Their names are as follows: " (#841 and #891 are the same person and are listed as ID #00004-841 )
