Notes  Simon H. Sherk, "was born December 11th, 1871, and died (He was accidentally killed while picking apples. He was standing on a wagon to which was hitched a team. The team started and he lost his balance and fell either between the wagon and the tree or between the ladder lying lengthwise on the wagon. He was struck on the side and chest, causing instant death. When found he was lying across the tongue of the wagon. No one seems to know exactly how it happened.) October 18th, 1888."
