Notes  John Nahrgang, "was born February 15th, 1839. On March 21st, 1865, he was married to Mary Shantz who was born August 8th, 1841, and died May 27th, 1886. On October 20th, 1889, he was again married to Mary Cressman, widow of the late Moses Martin. She was born November 1st, 1839. Mr. Nahrgang resides in Wilmot Township, on lot No. 16, Bleams Road, Block A, where he is engaged in farming. On October 14th, 1872, he was ordained as deacon to the Mennonite body for the Geiger field of labor. To him and his first wife were born nine children, namely: Oliver, Lucinda, (Lucinda is both deaf and dumb and is married to James Buck of Elgin County. He is also deaf and dumb..."
