Notes  John Schiedel, "was born in Wurtenberg, Germany, September 28th, 1802. When thirteen years of age he with his parents came to America and settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where he was raised. In 1824 he was married to Mary Kuehler, a native of Montgomery County. In 1841 they moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, a few miles east of Elmira where they resided until 1861 then they moved to Caledonia, Kent County, Michigan, where they followed farming. She died in 1881 and he died January 25th, 1885. To them was born a numerous family, viz:"
