Notes  Jacob G. Erb, "the second son of Jacob Erb, was born September 30th, 1802. On April 10th, 1824, he was married in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Catharine Wenger who was born June 12th, 1800. She died November 13th, 1874, and he died January 2nd, 1885. After their marriage they resided in this county, near Berlin, but in 1837 they moved to New York State where he entered into the mercantile business for three years when, in 1840, he moved on a farm where he resided for eleven years. In 1851 he went into the mercantile business again, continuing the same for three years. Some time during the year 1854 he retired from business and entered the ministry. He was engaged in preaching for several years. He resided at Clarence, Erie County, New York. Their family consisted of six childrenk, viz:"
