Notes  John Histand, "was born is Chester County, Pennsylvania, June 6th, 1811. He came to Canada with his brother Abraham before he was married. On September 29th, 1833, he was married to Catharine L. Bechtel. She was born September 27th, 1807, and died January 7th, 1884. Some time after their marriage they moved to the "Dickie Settlement", east of Roseville, where they resided for some time, then they moved on the farm now in possession of their son, John B. Histand, where they both died. His death took place on August 15th, 1892. To them were born five children, viz:"
