David Histand, "was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania, August 20th, 1755. He was raised on the farm and followed the agricultural life all his days. When a young man he used to go to Montgomery County to attend places of worship (where his parents worshipped while residing in Montgomery County) and visit friends and relatives. During these visits he formed an acquaintance with Elizabeth Bechtel who was raised near Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of old Martin Bechtel. To her he was married in 1783. Soon after their marriage they took possession of his father's beautiful farm located in the north-eastern part of Chester County, Pennsylvania, not far from the Schuylkill River.
