Notes  John Schlichter, "the eldest in the family, was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, October 10th, 1787. He was married to Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Gabel) Bechtel. She was born November 24th, 1795, and died February 1st, 1876. They resided on a farm (now owned by John McDonald) one mile east of New Dundee, Ontario, where he died August 12th, 1849, leaving a family of eleven children, viz:"

Elizabeth Bechtel "the second daughter, was married to John Schlichter. They resided about a mile east of New Dundee where they both died. Their family consisted of eleven children..."
