Deed: "This Indenture made the second day of October, one thousand Eight hundred and ninety, ........../ Between Peter E. Shantz of the Village of Preston in the County of Waterloo, Manufacturer, and Abraham Oberholtzer of the Township of Waterloo in the said County, Farmer, the Executors of the last will and testament of George C. Clemens, late of the said Township of Waterloo, Farmer, deceased .... the Grantors, of the First Part / Isaac M. Clemens of the said Township of Waterloo, Farmer, .....the Grantee, of the Second Part, and Isabella Clemens of the said Township of Waterloo, Widow of the said deceased, of the Third Part./Whereas the said George C.Clemens, deceased, died on or about the Twenty fourth day of July ... 1888, seized in fee simple of the lands and premises hereinafter mentioned, and leaving him surviving the said Isabella Clemens, his widow, and Austin Wilbert Clemens, Penrose Jackson Clemens, Ella Maud Clemens and Eugene Rothsay Clemens, his only children and heirs ar law./ And Whereas the said lands and premises are subject to incumbrance by way of mortgage bearing date the Seventeenth day of January .. 1889, made by the Executors of the said testator to The Ontario Mutual Life Assurance Company for securing Thirty five hundred dollars and interest .......... on which mortgage there remains unpaid the said principal sum and interest thereon at the rate of six per centum per annum from the Seventeenth day of January last past, the said mortgage having been given by the said Executors for the purpose of raising money to pay off a prior mortgage incumbrance upon the said lands and other debts of the said testator,/ And Whereas the said grantors have been duly appointed Executors of the said will and have agreed for the sale of the said lands and premises to the said grantee for the price or sum of Twenty one hundred dollars subject to the said mortgage which is to be paid and satisfied by the grantee/ And Whereas John Hoskin, Esquire, one of Her Majesty's Counsel, the Official Guardian of Infants, has consented to the said sale ...../ And Whereas the said widow has .............. elect to take her said husand's indisposed of Real Estate in lieu of her claim to dower in respect of such real estate/ Witnesseth that in consideration of Twenty one hundred dollars ......... as purchase money paid by the said grantee to the said grantors ......, the grantors, as such Executors of aforesaid do hereby grant and convey unto and to the use of the said grantee in fee simple, All and Singular that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate lying ang being in theTownship of Waterloo in the County of Waterloo ......... containing by admeasurement One hundred and thirty eight and one third acres ........ being part of Lot number Eight in what is commonly called Richard Beasley's Lower Block in the Broken Front Concession of the said Township of Waterloo .....................". On the outside: "Dated 2nd October 1890/ Ex'ors of Geo. C. Clemens et al / to / Isaac M. Clemens / Conveyance". Deed is handwritten and hand printed ink.
