A certificate printed in black on grey paper with handwritten entries in black ink. It reads: with honors/ Certificate/ No. 50 First Class/ This is to Certify, that Wilhelmina Stumpf of the Motortans?/ faith, having applied to the Board of Public Instruction for the county of Waterloo, for a Certifcate of/ Qualification to Teach a Common School, and having produced "satisfactory proof of good moral character."/ the Board has carefully examined her in the several branches of study enumerated in the "Qualification of/ First-Class Teachers," contained in the "Programme of the Examination and Classification of Teachers/ of Common Schools, prescribed by the Council of Public Instruction for Upper Cnadaa," adopted the 3rd/ day of October, 1850; and having found the said Wilhelmina Stumpf/ well qualified to teach the several branches therein named, the Board, as authorized by 20th section of the Act, 13th and 14th Victoria, chaper 48, hereby licenses her to teach any Common School in the County of Waterloo./ This certificate of Qualification to remain in force until recalled./ Dated this 18th day of December one thousand eight hundred and sixty two/ Geo.
