Description	Embroidered white woven linen towel. Hand-stitched designs include: floral designs, hearts, vertical lines of vines, strawberries, peacocks, the date "1878", the alphabet (J is missing) and the name "ESTER BAUMAN". As well the bottom two thirds deal with a Bowman family genealogy: DANIEL B BOWMAN IS / BORN THE 6 (?) APRIL 1840 / HENRY B BOWMAN IS / BORN THE 3 APRIL 1842 / MARY B BOWMAN IS / BORN THE 22 NOVEMBER 1843 / BARBARA B BOWMAN IS / BORN THE _ JUNE 1845 / PETER B BOWMAN IS BORN/ THE 21(?) OCTOBER 1846/ MAGEDLENA B BOWMAN IS/ BORN THE 12 NOVEMBER 1848/ LEVI BOWMAN IS BORN/ THE 3 IULE 1851/ ELIZABETH E BOWMAN IS/ BORN THE I_AUGUST 1853/ ANNA B BOWMAN IS/ BORN THE 11 (?) JANUARY 185_/JOSHUA B BOWMAN IS/ BORN THE 19 OCTOBER 1856/ ESTER B BOWMAN IS BORN/ THE 13 JUNE 18_/ SAMUEL B BOWMAN IS BORN/ THE 2 AUGUST 1861; "OEHBDDE" meaning "O Edel Herz Bedenk Dein End" ("Oh Noble Heart, Consider Thy End") also appears.
