Description	Three diaries kept by David B. Schneider. The first diary is dated 1858 to 1861. It also contains a ledger of household expenses for the years 1861-1886. The second diary covers the years 1877 to 1883. The third diary is dated 1893 and records his trip to Pennsylvania. Excerpts from the 1858-61 were reprinted in Hannes Schneider and his wife Catherine Haus Schneider Their Descendants and Times 1534-1939. The first page of the diary reads: Berlin, County Waterloo. This Book is to show how I got along and what I done from the first of November 1858 until my death, which will be one time or the other soon or long, God only knows. My hand writing. David B. Schneider born March the 1st 1840. The entries realte farm chores and visits within the community. The diary ends May 21st 1861. The book was later used in the early 1860s to record accounts.
